Sixth State!

We've just returned from a road trip! Finn has now been to 6 states. We drove from Seattle to Portland to visit our good friends Nick and Stephanie. Neither of us have spent much time in Portland (something about Ammon hating Oregon,) but the entire way home we talked about how much we like it there! So maybe we'll reconsider our idea of moving to Boise and head South instead!! Finn did pretty well. He slept half way there and was just getting fussy as we pulled off the exit towards their house. Once there, he had a great time playing with their pug Pedro and terrorizing Gary the cat. We did a little sight seeing and ate some good food. It made us wonder why it had taken us so long to visit.

The drive home reminded us how much Finn hates the car. We tried to time it so he would nap, but he just wasn't having it. He was pretty content for the first hour or so, but then started signing 'All done' and 'Milk' over and over. So we pulled over to offer him some milk. Nope, he just wanted to play. I think he has learned that 'Milk' is the magic get me out of the car seat sign! So we put him back and continued north. He cried and fussed for about 20 more miles before finally falling asleep. It was horrible. I HATE hearing my baby cry. But we knew he was fed, dry and not hurt and we needed to get home in time for swim lessons! Luckily, when he woke up from his nap we were pulling into the driveway and he seemed to have forgotten all about it!

We made it home just in time to get changed and head to the pool for swim lessons. I hadn't been to a lesson since last Spring, since I work on Sundays. It was great! Finn was floating on his back and kicking his feet. Ammon would put a toy out in front and Finn would try to swim for it. He doesn't mind getting dunked and REALLY liked jumping off the edge of the pool into daddy's arms. I also loved that every time Finn saw me watching from the side of the pool, he would squeal and wave! He sure loves the water!!
